Well, we're running just a tad behind on the reprint of OTR! We have received copies of both the Ancients and Crimean War variants thanks to some very helpful TMPers out there! We will be including these variants in the new edition.

The text has been proofed and finalized and the major portion of the photography is complete. There are some final tweaks to make to the layout, and the cover needs to be finalized. Then it will be off to the printers.

I expect to send the files at the end of next week, just after Tax Day. Printed copies and PDFs will then be available in Early May!

I never knew there was an ancients variant.

Thanks for the update. I'm looking forward to getting the PDF.

Me too!

Yes! I had a very vague memory of a Crimean war variant! So glad to hear it will be included!

This is great news.

Are you taking pre-orders for printed copies Crispy?

corporalpat13 Apr 2014 7:10 a.m. PST

Looking forward to seeing this in publication again especially with the variants included.

Once it actually goes to the printer I'll open the gates for pre-orders…

I can hardly wait for this updated version. I've got a couple of copies of the original version that are somewhat weather worn from use.

I know what I'm getting for my birthday!

Thanks for the update Mark!

I never knew there was an ancients variant.

I never knew either. I once played a Medieval version of Fire n Fury at Cold Wars but I've only heard of Black Powder variants of OTR.

While looking for Paul Koch's WW2 rules I found the Ancients variant published by the author and another in The Courier Vol.8 No.1. I'll post more as I find them.

BTW, if you go onto WGV, Select Don Perrin as the company and add search terms Koch Courier, you will hit all the available couriers that Paul Koch wrote for. He had several OTR scenarios publish in the magazine.

Ancients variant! Now that is weird!

Well, technically it only covers Romans versus hairy barbarian hordes…

True though pikes, chariots and elephants are there as well. You could do a great deal with this mod.
