Hello
i remenber somebody answer that before but i still have some doubts..My majority of French Revolution units are from the old Foundry range with some very nice, few, difficult to purchase,Touller ones..(an excellent French firm)..i usually play or collect units for the civil war in Vendée..so i should stick to those 2 manufactures but from what i read Eureka range see to be nice and complete…i also should have a sample from this Australian manufacture but it look very big/tall close to my WF minis….in fact which is your experience?..any compability picts or ideas?
thanks in advance

Hi
I am interested in what you have collected and how you organised your forces?

ITALWARS13 Apr 2014 4:18 a.m. PST

quite simple and not totally realistic:
French Figures: Mirliton , Chariot Miniatures, Touller figurines, Foundry, Hincliffe, Dixon organised and not fully painted in Demi Brigades of two blue units in bicorne and possibly dpleted uniforms and one "blanc" professional unit in tarleton/crested helmet. one or two units of rag tag grenadiers in épaulettes
French Cavalry: 1 unit each of Line Cavalry (Mirliton/Touller), Chasseurs à Cheval (Mirliton/Foundry), Hussars (Foundry, Mirliton)
French Artillery: 1/2 batteries (Mirliton/Dixon)

Vendéens: 2 peasant's units mélées improvised weapons; 3/4 units of muskets, 1 cavalry , 1/2 old guns (Touller figurines, Mirliton, few Foundry)

Rules and unit scale: adapted version of The Sword & The Flame.

In the pipeline: Austrians Inf/Cav (Mirliton, Foundry), Cisalpinians
Inf (Mirliton)Cisalpinian Cavalry (OG Chasseurs à cheval)

ITALWARS, I'm working on a range of Vendee Flags to compliment my French Demi-brigade flags, if you are interested.

Last year I made this Vendean farmhouse.

Thanks Emperor Tod..i should consider to visit this museum
Eclipsing..that's good..i could be interested in your flags..in fact, i noticed that it's quite difficult, from the majority of available pictorial sources, to reconstruct for specific flags both recto and verso…also concerning Republican Flags..my mail is: ital.wars@libero.it
As regards to uniforms may i suggest this idden source represented by an apparently children's book which, one i received it, reveal itself as a splendid uniform guides with extremely well researched subjects..including specific Republican Units and less known Vendéen ones:

Italwars, the recto/vecto issue is the main problem. There are no references to whether there was a different design on each side of all the flags, and though there is reference to some having differing sides, no reference confirms what that difference is. I've created four "rough" Vendeen flags so far, including designs that could be used for the Chuaon Rebellion as well. The "official" royalist flags will take a bit more work.

very interesing Eclipsing Binairies…we wait anxiuosly for those flags
PS: which scale do you play?

I also would be very keen to your flags, I would guess that some of the CHouan may well have carried a Breton Flag.

Any idea of flags carried by the emigre units at Quiberon?
I have given my Royalist Banners?
