Last night I did something I don't often do. I did a game with unfinished miniatures – but it had to be done, so that's fine. It was a practice game for the demo game we will do at Sheffield Triples later next month. It has worked well so far. I can be getting on with finishing the bits and pieces still required whilst it is going on – oh, there were so many bits and pieces.

A report and pics:

Good report. I am feeling "stressed" reading all the work needing done. Triples is around the corner.

Cheers,

Fantastic. This is the battle which inspired me to start my 10mm 7YW collection.

Great looking figures. What do you use the beads for? I see you play PK.

We are big fans of Piquet. I co-wrote the Anchor of Faith supplement with Mark Dudley, and I've also done some variations of Field of Battle, notably Ager Sanguinis and Ager Proelii. I also designed Jump or Burn.

We hate using rostas, especially in big games (this one involves nearly 100 units). Beads give immediate recognition to circumstances.

In this case beads usually denote unit quality.

Purple: Determined. Blue: Eager. Green: Ready. Red: Battle Weary.

It's similar for command quality (except: Superior, Skilled, Average, Poor) with the addition of yellow for Abysmal.

Black: First Fire / First Charge.

The coin counters show casualties, cessation cured disorder (house rule, where certain disorders are removed for an impetus pip on officer check), ralliable (morale chip) disorder, and out of command.
