Together with some swapped parts for the mechs they make great alternative Tau.

"Together with some swapped parts for the mechs they make great alternative Tau."

I don't know, I'm not seeing it.

Heinz Good Aryan11 Apr 2014 7:36 a.m. PST

those mechs look like windup toys to me, i just don't get them……

SpleenRippa11 Apr 2014 8:55 a.m. PST

Yeah, I can get that the small pads on the bottom of the legs are the "feet," but they totally don't do it for me.

John Bear Ross11 Apr 2014 10:10 a.m. PST

Understandable.
The Ygs design scheme is not going to appeal to everyone.
The mecha (and powered armour) emulate the parent race's physiology.
They're squat, reverse-legged, and different from most stuff that's out there.
I think that's going to be part of their appeal, as well, though. They're definitely not "cookie cutter" mecha. ;)

More thoughts and pictures on them at my blog…

Im down with the alien concept of the Ygs and now their mecha but to me they look as though they are wading through something its just the lack of feet that make them look so bizarre.

Heinz Good Aryan11 Apr 2014 10:46 a.m. PST

the big thing for me is they just look toylike, it doesn't look like a model depicting a large machine, if that makes any sense! i mean, it looks like its 2 inches tall, not a model of something that's supposed to be sixteen feet tall……

John Bear Ross11 Apr 2014 11:28 a.m. PST

No worries.

There's lots of stylistic variety in the CMG-verse that might suit you gents better, if'n the Ygs aren't your particular cup of tea.

Holy crap in a pita…….the snake mecha… That's awesome sauce . Is that gonna be up fer sale someday?

As for the ygs mecha…he reminds me of 80-90s era space marines from the belly up…mostly the shoulder pads and the backpack. Reminds me in a good way…as that was the last time I bought a gw product that I liked…ahhh those halcyon days ;p

Gunner they were top of my list for not-Tau…. Still have to paint them now…
