LAST NIGHT could herald the 'End of Days'. "Mars, Earth, and the Sun all aligned last night, a rare 'opposition of the planets' that only happens once every 778 days. But what made this event so remarkable is that it occured precisely a week before everyone on earth will see the first of FOUR dark red 'blood moons', an extraordinary event some Christians believe represents the End of Days and the second coming of Christ. The King James Bible predicts: "The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD comes," [Joel 2:31]

I personal take it as a possible. There is nothing wrong with doing a bit of prepping. Just in case. Those who think the world will carry on forever as it currently is have always been wrong. Rome fell, the dinosaurs died out. Civilisations have ended. At some point it will happen again. Could it be soon? Who knows. But if you don't once in a while give thought to it you may have it happen on your watch and end up in a world of pain. Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it. At some point all this will be coming crushing down. So I for one will not take the out of the doom sayers as one day they will be right. |

The world could end for a number of reasons, an unseen asteroid perhaps etc, but Predictors who talk of "planetary alignments" will always be wrong though. Regards Jim |

Stealth100: I'm just curious, but exactly what would preparing for some mass extinction level event actually achieve? Let's face it, no matter what you or I would do in advance, with a global catastrophe at best all you can do is buy yourself a few extra months of misery, before finally falling victim to starvation or disease caused by the millions of dead and decaying bodies. Nope, that's not for me! If the worst does happen in my lifetime, I want to be right at the epicentre of whatever impact, eruption, or whatever, and not have to face a slow, miserable, lingering death, while cannibalising the putrid remains of my neighbours. |

Cuculainn, Can I have your figures when that happens? No sense letting them go to waste. |

@ Cuchulainn It can be something less than a total end of the world scenario any of us could end up facing. EMP, global economic collapse, pandemic (zombie apocalypse :-) ). Any of them could change life forever. I aint going to say any one is crazy for thinking about and doing something to help themselves if some kind of event did happen. If its THE END of the world event then nothing to even worry about. We all go poof and its over. But its the end of the world as you know it that is the nasty one. Did you know even a total global nuclear war would leave billions still alive. You could be one who had done some thinking about it and might make it though or you could be totally unprepared in any way and take 4 months to die from starvation. Personally I am waiting for the zombie apocalypse. Machetes and crossbow at the ready :-). |

If someone stops you in the street every day and says "today you will die", one day they will be right. That doesn't make them any less of an annoying nutter. |

A valuable lesson can be learnt from Burt Gummer in "Tremors", as he looked at his carefully prepared shelter: "Food for five years, a thousand gallons of gas, air filtration, water filtration, Geiger counter. Bomb shelter! Underground
monsters." :o) |

I have to admit that there's something eerie about the 4 nights of Blood moons falling on the Wed, Thur, Fri and Sat of Easter week. |

I will make the following predictions: Earthquakes! Fires! Floods! Tornadoes! Hurricanes/Typhoons! Volcanic eruptions! Sinkholes! Meteors! Mutated animal births/hatchings! All will happen this year! And next year! And the year after that! And every year!
just as they always have. Wow, that was easy. Can I get my swami hat now? |

"Mars, Earth, and the Sun all aligned last night, a rare 'opposition of the planets' that only happens once every 778 days." How is something that happens once every twoish years rare? Its happened 15 times in my lfetime alone
and several billion times in total. Not Rare. |
