I am currently putting together a British company for Through the Mud and the Blood, comprised of 20mm Plastic figures (my first for decades!). Thanks for looking!

Thank-you for posting this. I have two questions. Was there much flash? How did you undercoat the figures? Thanks Mick |
Abwehrschlacht | 09 Apr 2014 6:48 a.m. PST |
Cheers guys! Mick: There was a bit of flash on some of the figures, I tried my best to trim it off with a scalpel. and I undercoated them in white. |

I've thought about getting some plastic guys for a Korean War project. Please keep us informed as to how this works out. |

Good on you Abwehrschlacht, more power to you. I've got plastic forces for WW1 Turks and ANZACs and find them perfectly acceptable as wargame figures, cheap and no problem to work with. |

Cheers guys, I will certainly keep you updated with progress reports. They are quick and cheap, so it's a winner for me! |

Interesting project, I used to a massive collection of soft plastic ACW. I could never paint them to a standard I was happy with, but the upside was they where cheap, and readily available. I converted so many figures, which in itself was very easy! So this is another set of eyes that will follow this project with interest, and from experience I'm sure it will be a project well worth following. |

Great set of rules. Figures aren't bad either! Thanks for sharing Craig |

Thanks for that guys, I'm glad you liked them! I'm looking forward to playing my first game of it! |

My late WW1 figures are all plastic too, those look suspiciously identical to my Emhar British figures:) |
Abwehrschlacht | 10 Apr 2014 1:48 a.m. PST |
Martin, that's because they ARE Emhar British figures! Ha ha! |

That is very nice work Abwehr (the helmet swap looked fantastic!), and I can say that your thread here and Mick in Switzerland´s make it tougher and tougher for me to stay away from WWI! Much to my wife´s chagrin, I might add. |

Looks good – keep us posted |

You can use Hat Americans at a pinch. The webbing is a little different without the distinctive 'X' in the back of British troops. However, I've seen plenty of photos of Brits without full webbing, especially later war. The main features are there (Brodie helmet and puttees) so I think they'll be fine. Just leave out the Brownings, shotguns and Chauchats. link Just make sue you get the Hat version (8112) and not the reissued Aifix ones Hat put out (7004). Totally inaccurate. link |

I do have the HaT Americans already, I was going to use their rifle grenadiers, but I think the uniform is far too different. They have different water bottles and the trousers are wider than the British! I know that the guys I game with probably wouldn't notice, but I would know! |
