I was wondering if Canadian militia battalions of the 1860's were issued with flags, if they carried these flags in the field during the Fenian raids and what these flags might've look like? Thanks |

I didn't read anything about either the Scarlet Runners or the Quickest Outta Ridgeway carrying flags in Vronsky's book on Ridgeway. I would suspect that the 13th's flag would have looked similar to a normal British line battalion of the time. For the QOR, I have no idea. As I am playing a BvB/TSATF hybrid, I'm not planning on providing any to my Militia. But on the plus side, they can't be captured that way either

Ken Cliffe from "All the King's Men" has some nice photos of his painted 54mm Fenian Raid figure collection on his website at ATKM. Possibly of some help for your project.
It certainly looks like a fun period to paint and game -- especially with the new Perry Miniatures 1860s British infantry figures coming out in 28mm. |

As a Rifle regiment, the Queen's Own Rifles woould not carry Flags/Colours. |
