I'm starting a collection of 15mm Shermans. Can anyone list the various manufactures by scale size, smallest to largest? I've heard the newer Battle Front are larger than their older offering? Same for Command decision? All the Shermans I have now seem to be on the small side ( maybe true 1/100th scale )? I want to keep them all relatively close in size. I have some M-10 TD's, unknown manufacturer, they are larger in height & length then all my Shermans? Trying to avoid some scale creep. Thanks.

Who made the Shermans you have now? It may be possible to get more, even if they are OOP.

The Command Decision tanks are the same size now as they were when they came out years ago. Also, any new Command Decision Tanks (and there is a boat load coming in the near future) are all scaled to what already exist.

Peter Pig are 1/100th and always have been. Although nothing Is perfect, the PP ones are built from 1/100 dimensions; which can be looked up on the internet I am sure. PP even have the different length track units for brit Shermans. PP started the 1/100th to 15mm match for the WW2 market many years ago, whilst accepting that 15mm IS NOT 1/100th but looks good alongside 1/100th vehicles (base depth, chunkier figs etc). The problem will be if you use figures that are scale creeping. Overall the "trick/advice" is not to mix manufacturer's vehicles in the same unit and all should be well.

all the best

The PP and QRF Shermans are both exactly the same size as both are 1/100th, not compared them with PSC ones though.

BF vehicles tend to be distorted in the vertical dimension, but are usually 1/100th in the width and depth.

CD/Skytrex are usually on the small side, mostly 1/106th, like QC, the older standard for '15mm'. There are exceptions, like their gigantic Universal carriers.

So, as Martin says, if it is a real concern, stick with one manufacturer for a particular vehicle.

I use PP M4A3(W)76mm alongside BF M4A1(W)76mm and they look fine on the same table. PP gun barrels are chunkier especially compared to the BF plastic barrels but its not hugely noticeable unless they're right next to each other.

I can't speak directly about the PSC Shermans but all their other tanks I have fit very nicely scale wise with my collection of BF/PP/FiB/Zvezda.

@miniatureships,
any hints you can give as to what is in the pipeline? :)
Thanks!
