Giant Monster Rampage: Rage of Monsters is a kaiju boardgame I have been working on for the past year and it is the reason I haven't been very active here or on the Radioactive Press newsgroup during that time. The game was almost a licensed product, but that fell through "for now". I am hoping, by releasing the prototype, that I can "fine tune" the game and hopefully get it into the hands of a publisher who can help me bring it to market. The game focuses on combat between monsters, but includes elements common to many kaiju movies such as anti-kaiju vehicles and crowds of fleeing citizens. I plan on expanding the game with new rules and monsters if there is enough interest in the game. You can view a preview of what is included with the print and play prototype here: link -Ken Radioactive Press |

I certainly need to pick this up. My son will be quite interested in it, too. |

"Is this a boardgame version of Giant Monster Rampage?" I have gotten this question several times and thought it was good enough to deserve its own post. Giant Monster Rampage: Rage of Monsters is NOT a boardgame version of the Toy Battle System game Giant Monster Rampage. It is its own unique system. The reason I used Giant Monster Rampage in the title of the boardgame is because the two games use the same back story and characters. -Ken Radioactive Press |

Here is a picture of two prototype game boards set up to play a game of GMR: Rage of Monsters. (NOTE: Most scenarios use 4 or more boards) The figures on the board are "super deformed" gashapon figures that measure approximately 1.5" tall. The blocks are Megabloks mid-sized (one size up from standard building blocks) toddler blocks. link -Ken Radioactive Press |

If anyone is looking for something better than building blocks to use for city blocks, these paper buildings (the single square ones) might be what you are looking for: PDF link It appears that the buildings were designed to be used with the Pacific Rim Heroclix figures, but they will work just as well with GMR: Rage of Monsters. -Ken Radioactive Press |

To anyone who has tried out the prototype, would you be interested in a super powered humans (Atomic Super Humans) boardgame using the same basic system as GMR: Rage of Monsters? The game play would be essentially the same, only it would be themed (scaled down)to super powered human battles. -Ken Radioactive Press |

It has been almost a year since I first released the GMR: Rage of Monsters boardgame prototype. In that time, I have taken the feedback I received and made a few changes to the game and uploaded a new print and play PDF for the game on Wargame Vault. Those interested in the game can find a short preview here: link -Ken Radioactive Press |
