Hello gentlemen, I'm looking for an adaptation of the LOTR rules by GW for playing historicaly medieval battles, does anyone knows where i can found something like that ? I would like to play battles from 30 to 100 miniatures for each side, but where all minis are independant. LOTR style. [Very sorry for my poor-bad-internet-english] Thanks you by advance :) Leo |

Leo, There is a version called Age of Trebuchets at this link: link I have used it for Dark Stuff, but it is aimed a little later. Lost Pict |

Do you mean the skirmish rules ? They'd play ok with 100 a side. Really there's no difference between them and a straight medieval skirmish set once you drop magic and orcs. |

Yes, great set of rules. As 20thMaine says, they work really well for historicals "right out of the box". No changes have to be made except dropping creatures and magic. If you want more realism you might tone down the heroic character rules, but I've always liked larger than life figures, even in historical games. |

agreed, LOTR works really well, especially if you drop the magic bits. I sometimes keep the fear rule if a character has a big reputation for being deadly. once we kept the fury rule but modified that if a model made the fury save it only got one more round of play before succumbing to his wounds. however, 100 modesl a side can be a long game. |

Thanks everyone for your help ! I like LOTR rules for their simplicity and then fun they provide, and i like medieval skirmish. I think both can make a great mix. I'll try several things for characters, i like the Destiny/power points. Thanks you again :) |
