Ya know, it was rather strange in a nice way to see a number of my kitbashes showing up as 3/4 view silhouette graphics with the possibility of becoming full blown production models in 15mm, officially cheek to jowl with some of the nicer 15mm sci fi models available these days…evil grin

So c'mon you apes! Ya wanna live forever?!evil grin

John looks like the Salute money might be spent here instead
so might not see you Saturday. Lol(hysterically).

Can vouch for the quality of the resin casting, top notch(have a couple of Sor'han on the painting table).
The big question is how the ventauran infantry match up against the Eureka ones ?
Oh decisions decisions

The Scorpion looks like the perfect platoon HQ vehicle to use for a trio of Talins.

Darkest Star Games Sponsoring Member of TMP09 Apr 2014 8:04 a.m. PST

Thanks all!
Von T, about the infantry: These Venturians will have different helmets, as though these were designed and sculpted by Leon Locke of Adler (and he did the original 6mm figs) he felt they needed a refresh.

Get those S'orhans painted! Would love to see them.

John Treadaway09 Apr 2014 9:11 a.m. PST

Interesting: didn't spot the Ventauran/Venturian infantry thing (I didn't look at the Kickstarter stuff hard enough!).

Still, all good, by my book. I like both of the vehicles very much indeed.

15mm SF is just monsterous at the moment!

I keep staring at these two models contemplating how I would paint them to best effect… and keep concluding that I'll need a dozen of each for at least four different paint schemes apiece just to do them justice…evil grin

That tank is definitely getting grav plates once I get a hold of it.

Darkest Star Games Sponsoring Member of TMP11 Apr 2014 7:48 a.m. PST

That'll be really cool, I'd like to see that!

FritsK11 Apr 2014 11:57 a.m. PST

Yummy, these would be a nice addition to what I have from gzg, cmg, khurasan, rebel minis, old crow…

BlackWidowPilot Fezian12 Apr 2014 10:57 a.m. PST

I just received my first Darkest Star Games models, three S'orhans, two Pumas, five Talins, and four of the new "Jackdaw" "ride armor not-tachikomas. These castings are superbly clean. There is virtually no flash whatsoever on any of 'em, and the detailing is crisp and well defined. Cleanup will consist of removing a casting bur here or there, but that is about it!

The massive "Winnebago of Doom" is simply, well, MASSIVE, and the Puma and S'orhan are HUGE, but things of beauty, all sleek aerodynamic Death from Above!evil grin

Now I can't wait for the Scorpion and Kh'erian MBT, as I already have a pretty good idea as to how I am going to paint them all up, and I have five different human infantry factions to finish painting up, and they all need their respective rides…evil grin

Ditto on the grav plates on the tank. Upgrade?

TK 42115 Apr 2014 5:31 a.m. PST

Doing it from scratch is fun for me but an upgrade kit for that tank would just be awesome. Not everyone is an avid modeler and they may not be compelled to scratch build the plates.

Darkest Star Games Sponsoring Member of TMP15 Apr 2014 6:29 a.m. PST

Grav plates are something I can definitely look at doing at some point.

jeffbird15 Apr 2014 8:05 a.m. PST

All we now need is some Ultra Modern African forces.

rvandusen Supporting Member of TMP15 Apr 2014 8:48 a.m. PST

GZG has some Sci Fi African troops.

Bob Runnicles15 Apr 2014 9:12 a.m. PST

I backed at the Tank Driver level for now to have access to backer only updates and keep it in my radar scope; I'm hoping to be able to pledge more but I'll have to check those finances first! I do have some of the Dark Star 6mm minis from the Adler days and I was very happy with them, 15mm scaled versions can only look even better!

Darkest Star Games Sponsoring Member of TMP15 Apr 2014 9:47 a.m. PST

Thank you Bob, much appreciated!

Say, did y'all know we just got on facebook. I know, a bit late….

congrats on the funding -- any sneak peeks for the infantry now that we have seen the APC variant?

Darkest Star Games Sponsoring Member of TMP17 Apr 2014 11:52 a.m. PST

Thanks Jason! Yes indeed, we are now funded! Woop woop!
There will be teases of the new figures every so often, so keep your eyes peeled on the the Kickstarter page!

Not at 15mm, as i'm aware. Know about the 25mm PAU troops.

arngrimson18 Apr 2014 6:58 a.m. PST

gzg (been out for a while) Pan-African Union (PAU)

ALL-NEW-SCULPT PAU (Pan-African Union) troops – these are new to 15mm, having only been made previously in our old 25mm range; the PAU ground forces are equipped at low to mid-tech light infantry, generally without body armour and wearing either combat helmets or traditional soft jungle caps. In addition to being used as PAU forces, these figures also provide an excellent generic range of light infantry for your own backgrounds and settings.

jeffbird18 Apr 2014 8:13 a.m. PST

Cheers for the heads up.
