We had our participation game; not much participation, but I've come to the conclusion the basic movement system would be good for a quick-to-set-up demo, possibly on a small space. Damage, however, seems a bit fiddly with the chit draw and ship displays. The latter I can substitute, maybe even make a peg board, but the chit layout can still be a space and/or dexterity issue. Before I start digging out old games for inspiration, has anyone worked up an alternate? Dice, flat damage, whole new system? Personally, I don't need to mirror exactly, but something close would be nice. Doug |

Hmm, That's exactly what I commented at the playtest stage but the feedback did not seem to be appreciated. I thought they were supposed to be looking at some form of fastplay/quickstart system with less of the chit-sorting but obviously that did not make the cut. Hoping to see a set in play at Salute or the Gosport Naval Wargames show. Just a flat system of cumulative damage as the chits mounted up seemed an obvious way of speeding things up

Thanks, Mark! That could lead to a compromise, still use chits, but don't juggle a board covered with them. Piles of chits are fine for a lot of Eurogames, but I'm really envisioning playing on a small table at lunch or the like. I suppose I'll have to raid another game for ideas. ;->= Doug |

I am experimenting with magnets. I am using a whole punch on magnetic paper and sticking them on the corner of the chit. I have added a tiny steel paper strip on the board to enable the chits to 'stick'. Martin |
