I would not want to have a window seat. I would be on the aisle, holding a pillow over my eyes.

Interesting that most of the aircraft are 'gear down',
while a few (and mostly a single airline) are 'gear up'

Impressive work

Looks impressive, alright.

I was working at the airport there once, the runways go right out over a beach, while I was walking on that beach a bunch of planes went right overhead and it was a neat site to see. The 747 that was directly overhead being the most impressive.

Not quite the same as the one beach (South America?) where the runways ends almost directly ON the beach, but as close as I would like to get.

I'm not buying it. Too neat and unoverlapped….

Great War Ace …

"The architectural photographer spent nearly an entire day at the south complex of the airport capturing all of the takeoffs and some landings, then spent another eight hours using Photoshop to put everything together. It was worth it. The bevy of airplanes makes for an impressive and dramatic image.

Kelley explains that he took some artistic liberties with the angles of the planes to compose an interesting photo"

Ever fly into SFO? They have parallel runways there, and on approach, it seems like you can see the faces of other passengers on a jet landing next to yours. I once innocently pointed this out to a seatmate and was told "F you! I'm afraid of flying! I am *not* looking out that window!"

That is what would be called clear skies at ATL!

That's not too much of an exaggeration. They're stacked up pretty deep on any given day.

Princess Juliana International Airport on the Dutch side of Saint Martin (Sint Maarten) in the Caribbean. A plane-spotter's paradise.

Sometimes there is spillover onto the 405….

When I was a wee lad I was in the back seat of my uncle's convertible with the top down, somewhere in Long Island. Hidden behind a hedge to our right was the runway of an air force base. Suddenly a Voodoo fighter took off over the hedge, engines screaming. It scared me plenty, you bet.

Landings at Ft. Lauderdale Intl. can be quite fun viewed from I-95, especially if a 747 or other jumbo jet comes in from a landing from the West.

Several years ago I was driving up the Fl. Turnpike to a seminar and was passing the Seminole Hard Rock Cafe Complex and a stretch Japan Air 747 was coming in from the west. The Turnpike at that point is about five miles west of I-95 and the plane was fairly low then, I can imagine the uproar it caused to early AM commute drivers on 95 two minutes later.
