Apparently, the USA isn't the only country that uses and loses a lot of its drones, of late.

Not sure who is the front-runner on the loss front, since that's top secret for both, but a North Korean one was found about 80 miles south of the border. It appears it was found months ago, by a ginseng farmer, but only reported last week. Supposedly, three have been found in South Korea recently.

On a couple of related notes, in the USA a drone crashed near an elementary school, so we now have something more to worry about, given the projected density of these things in our skies in the near future; and, the USA is apparently moving three more destroyers to Japanese waters to shore up their ballistic missile defenses (and probably to send a message to China as well, I suspect).

So, if your miniatures rules don't account for lost/hijacked drones, then you might want to amend them, since they seem to be a bit less reliable than once thought.

I think reliability is an issue of the sophistication of the vehicle. Looking at the NK drones, they don't appear to be much more than long range model airplanes. As to US or other First World drones reliability issues may not be all that great given the number of missions flown and the number of failures.

The drones flown by the US do have something like 20x the crash rate of manned aircraft.

But that's still a really low failure rate.
