I rather enjoyed the Dredd reboot. I hope they make it happen.

If only the uniform looked even vaguely like the classic comic strip.

Would absolutely love a sequel, prequel, or even a feeble fetal…ok just the first two

"If only the uniform looked even vaguely like the classic comic strip."

Sure but wasn't Dredd just so Dredd

Muncehead07 Apr 2014 12:15 p.m. PST

Urban done good and kept his head on throughout ,hopefully the next film will get those massive DVD sales into bums on seats at thr cinema

Monkey Hanger Fezian07 Apr 2014 12:48 p.m. PST

Already signed up – Urban certainly got the character down to a tee

:-)

Mako1107 Apr 2014 12:57 p.m. PST

The last one was quite good, so I'll happily watch.

Pictors Studio07 Apr 2014 1:13 p.m. PST

I'd go see it. The last one was great. I liked the Stallone one too though.

Brian Smaller07 Apr 2014 1:26 p.m. PST

This is the best Dredd movie ever made. The uniforms, the setting, the Lawmaster that looked like a Lawmaster, the imagery – everything as per the comics. I mean – did you see the billboard in the Cursed Earth ruins that said Vote Bob Booth?

I had never picked up a Judge Dredd comic. Still never have. I really liked the Urban version, had a much better feel to it than the Stallone (coming from a non-fanboy.)

I would go to see any number of Dredd sequels with Urban if it kept the same feel to it.

Ping Pong07 Apr 2014 2:12 p.m. PST

Coming from a recently converted fanboy, the Urban version is way better. I got into Dredd because of that movie. Now I'm six or seven reprint volumes into the series.

War Panda07 Apr 2014 3:16 p.m. PST

@Brian That was quite brilliant, had no idea that existed….thanks

Brian Smaller07 Apr 2014 3:18 p.m. PST

@War Panda – Imagine that vision with money behind it. A REAL JD movie. Urban had the chin right, if only the costuming and setting were better.

chuck05 Fezian07 Apr 2014 3:52 p.m. PST

Id be all in for a sequel. Id love to see them do something with Judge Death.

Chuck

Yes, please.

War Panda07 Apr 2014 4:25 p.m. PST

@Brian Now that would be something special…we can only hope I guess

DsGilbert07 Apr 2014 7:05 p.m. PST

I enjoyed the Urban one. I will also admit that I liked the Stallone one also. Neither one better than the other. I'm not a Dredd comic reader, so I'm not biased by that.

The Dredd comics are over-the-top satire, and Dredd is not so much the hero as the vehicle for it all, the straight man for the writers' dark humor. Neither film pulled that off, or even came close. In one we had an overblown Hollywood blockbuster. In the other we had a gritty, uber-violent SF action flick. I think we've yet to see the real Dredd on screen. I doubt we will.

Norrins07 Apr 2014 9:47 p.m. PST

I think the Urban film has had an impact on the comic. The Day of Chaos and Trifecta stories are pretty damn gritty. As was the recent stryline of Dredd on Titan.

john lacour08 Apr 2014 7:44 p.m. PST

i'm a long time dredd heaD. i quite liked the newer film. i'd like another.
what i don't like is the 1 for 1 dredd time line. never understood what they were trying to do with that…

Caesar09 Apr 2014 10:18 a.m. PST

Parzival,

Dredd is often over-the-top satire, yet can also be hyper-violent action, silly and immature nonsense, philosophical and pensive, dark, fantastical or even run-of-the-mill cop stories.
