Hey all!

I went over to a friends house to photograph his 25mm AWI collection for him, and figured I would post a second copy of the photos on my blog as well!

So come on by and take a peek!

Beautiful collection ,nice paint jobs

I would only make a few suggestions.
1) Lose that totally imaginary green flag. Grenadiers did not carry colours, and that design is wrong for ANY regiment.
Why?
The grenadiers (or if you are calling them the Welch Fusiliers) have blue facings.
The only regiments that have a red
st George's cross are those with black or white or red facings. NONE had green with the cross like that imaginary flag.

2) Spread them out! grin The AWI was LINEAR!

But the paint jobs are very nice.

I actually photographed them right on their shelves… They sit on glass shelves and we just took them out in blocks:)

Oh… grin

Lord Ashram, he stated in the blog that he's not "parting" them out. As in parsing or parcelling, i.e. you can't buy them buy the unit…it's the whole nut or nothing?

Hey!

I don't know much about the sales aspect of that collection… My buddy is handling that on his blog, I am just posting for the sake of eye candy:). That said yes, he is only selling the entire collection (both sides) as a single item. I don't believe he is in any rush whatsoever, and he (and I, to be honest) gets a little sad at the idea of armies of guys who have been together for so long and fought so many battles side by side getting split up:)

That is actually a pretty good price. Not cheap, but not the inflated prices you sometimes see for these sort of collection sales either.

Yeah I know the flags are incorrect, I did this collection 12 years ago. I'm only a stitch nazi when it comes to my 28mm ACW. Rev War is a passion but I'm not nearly as well read on the material culture of the period. Its all or nothing on this one. I don't mind keeping it, just trying to give the boys a shot at another life before retiring them to boxes in a closet.
