I have been wanting an aerial opponent to fight my Eureka pterodactyls, but Nic Robson hasn't been interested in the idea, and I didn't need 150 of them. So for two years I've been picking up GW giant eagles in flea markets.

I rarely buy painted figures, but I asked the the Major Objective painting service if he could come up with sitting Americans. He modified some figures then made a mold of the body. Finally he molded bodies and attached various arms and heads. I think he did a very nice job.

I painted the eagles and was ready to mount them, then realized I had exhausted my stash of GW flight stands. I don't care much for GW rules or their figures with the silly oversized weapons, but I do like their flight stands. None of the GW stores have the stands in stock -- they are a special order item. So you get to pay a couple dollars each plus $9 USD shipping. Instead I ordered clear plastic rods from Tower Hobby and mounted them in round wooden bases from that guy who sells the Chinese takeout containers full of bases for a fixed price.

I think they turned out well and am excited to get them on the table soon.

Major Objective has a mold now if you want to order them from him.

Having a BIT of an issue with sizes, but nothing I can't rationalize.

Otherwise, PULP-MINTY!

If they were good enough for Frodo, they are good enough for our GIs! Love the figs and painting.

If the Allies capture some of the enemy mounts, they can offer them for use to their sister division, the 82nd AA (Archeopteryx Assault)

That's right! Give 'em the bird!

Well done.
