Who makes in your opinion the best 15mm 3rd century romans? Thanks. |

Essex ones are fairly nice. Old Glory 15s are OK, but much more rough in sculpt. Damon. |

I chose Old Glory for both the Western and Eastern 3rd century Roman armies. You can follow the selection of figure types and their armament at the following link: link Cheers, |

Are there no smaller makers who put out highly detailed figures like legio heroica does for later roman periods? |

How are the Chariot Romans? A bit big for 15mm like their fantasy line? |

Is the museum range for this period good? |

The Chariot Roman range is the same as the Magister Militum one and they are the same size as the other ranges of the period, that is they are not big as their fantasy line. A few years ago Khurasan tried a middle imperial range but the figures never came out, really a pity! |

Chariot Romans are true 15mm I have a nice 3 – 4 th C Roman army from them Not as flash as some of the ore recent sculpts around but they have a full range of types inc the Barbarian allies and they look reasonably authentic in terms of arms ans armour |
