In the latest post on my blog, I take a brief look at Chain Reaction 3 from Two Hour Wargames link Summary: It's free, try it out! |

Yup! I mentioned the mechanics part in there, but you are right about the support. It is very good. The blog is a good read and the forum is helpful for new players. Every question is treated with respect and promptly replied to! |

I've picked up several free sets of THW rules, got a set at an auction, and even <Gasp> paid Real Money for two rule books. While they do, as you say, use the same mechanics, they are different, and not cut and paste jobs. Which I like: if I'm working my way through a set of rules and just can't grasp whatever it is he is going on about, I can go look at a different set, where things are explained a bit differently. Very true. One of my main concerns with using the same 'core rules' is that periods don't feel any different to each other. But with the addition of special rules, scenarios, character types etc, in each set the reality is not like that. |

I've revamped my blog, so the above link won't work anymore. Here's a new one: link |
