Better figure than most though. When you hear the title "Amazon," I usually anticipate leopard skin bikinis. Was a nice surprise. |

It is a nice figure, not totally fanciful, as James pointed out. Anybody know what scale it is, or who makes it? Tango's links lead to a Reaper painting contest, but I don't remember Reaper making that figure. Grelber |

I thought Amazon women were missing the left one. A fanciful popular etymology from a-mazos "without breast", connected with an etiological tradition that Amazons had their right breast cut off or burnt out to shoot their bows. But Amazons are *always* fully breasted in all Ancient art (with the left breast often covered), so alternate etymologies derived from Iranian roots such as ha-mazan ('warrior') or ama-janah ('virility killer') are more likely. |
