I need some nice minion colors, and I bet you do, too! Seriously, I'm getting ready to paint some of Crossover's neat 'paramilitary goons' and am wondering what the best villainous organization color/combo is? Green w/yellow has that classic evil vibe, but I'm also thinking of combining purple and green. Maybe dark blue? Decisions, decisions. To you, what says 'hello, I'm lackey laser fodder to keep you busy for a couple panels while my boss escapes?' |

Why not get some of each. So your guys base color is green but then he gets yellow gloves if he is a private, red gloves if he is an NCO, purple gloves for an officer and black if he is a general. Of course this can be gloves, helmets, masks whatever. |

Alternately, and I thought of this on the way to the post office to send out a little cthulhu, you could make the color difference represent the branch that the thug/henchman serves in. So security is black, research is yellow etc. |

I'd go with Jack Kirby's color schemes for Hydra, AIM, and other bad guys: green with yellow trim, blue with purple trim, brown with black trim, all yellow, all red, and so on. A Google image search will turn up dozens of ideas. |

I went with the classic HYDRA uniform colors |

I had thought that the HYDRA goons were black-clad in the film, but no
I like the bottle green with red piping, but it needs to be punched up a bit for a proper superhero comic look. Please post again when you get 'em painted! Ron |

Here's a shot from my workbench if it helps a little.
I've always had intentions of doing a "Minion of the Week" and painting a new color scheme every week, but you know how it goes

When I were kid (in the UK) our version of GI Joe was action force and our version of Cobra were the Red Shadows who wore (not unsurprisingly) red/black.

I guess it goes to show there are no bad minion colors (well, maybe pink). Good ideas all and I will try to post the finished figs. I just remembered that although most Cobra guys wore blue, they did have an 'elite guard' unit in red, who looked a lot like the Red Shadows!

I did a set of generic minions for a customer once. She said "the more generic, the better". I made them all in white clothing with bar codes on their backs. Of course, nothing says low-budget-minion like a grey poopy suit. For pure evil, though, I'm a fan of lime green and tangerine. It's also good for distracting the good guys from whatever the bad guy is doing. Like trying to look away from a train wreck

IIRC the minons of THRUSH (from 'The Man from UNCLE' TV series) wore orange. I remember thinking that they looked pretty sharp back in the day

I would actually kill a man to have Red shadow minis
Or as they are merely German infantry figures with a fancy paintjob and a head swap I could get off my lazy butt and sculpt a scale appropriate Red Shadow head. |

I thought it was R.O.S.E.S. are reds, V.I.O.L.E.T.S. are blues, SPECTRUM is green-- And most other hues. |

Dark charcoal gray with Pepto-bismol Pink piping and just a touch of fluorescent green … For the uniform of: The F.A.S.H.I.O.N. Police. |

For some reason I always liked the Crimson Guards uniform, and the new Cobra Infantry Viper design as well. I say new, it was from the late 80's…<sigh>…. |
