That site has been giving me fits. Why? What's the problem? |
Mako11 | 04 Apr 2014 11:04 a.m. PST |
I had issues as well. Doesn't work anymore with my Internet Explorer 8. Try accessing the site through Google, if you want to post, or change things in your photo albums. |

I've been using Google Chrome, no problems. I just switched from Flickr because changes they made there drove me up the wall. |

I believe I have IE8, so that may be the problem. And of course there is some pop-up semi-porn site that plays music and wants me to join when I'm trying to load pics, etc.
And my protection device knocks me offline to protect my machine. So I want to tell them about this annoying pop-up, which inturn knocked me off 4-5 times today. Otherwise I'm managing with Photobucket. And if adjust my pop-up protection then I have more trouble accessing the site

And of course there is some pop-up semi-porn site that plays music and wants me to join when I'm trying to load pics, etc. That sounds to me as if you've got malware on your machine. It's almost certainly nothing to do with Photobucket, so contacting them wouldn't be of any use. |

It only pops-up when on Photobucket, and this happen before, where there was malware imbedded in one of their adds. At least that's what there tech e-mail me back then when you could actually contact them. I ran a security scan with my MSN Security Essentials as soon as this occured, and found nothing

It only pops-up when on Photobucket, and this happened before, where there was malware imbedded in one of their ads. If that was true then other people would report the same problem. No, this looks like it's something on your machine, I'm afraid |

I think the Photobucket site seems to add malware to people's PCs, or at least it does/did to mine. I now sweep mine nightly for that, but my PC used to really bog down when using PB, or afterwards. Google reduced the problem, so I think it is due to the PB upgrade/change, and IE8. |
Legion 4 | 05 Apr 2014 10:54 a.m. PST |
Ran another malware sweep
nothing
again
based on my past experience with them
it's them
And I don't know how other people could report it
there is no longer a link to contact them or tech support
all they do is send you to another page with troubleshooting, etc. And nothing about malware, etc.
only how to upload, sign on, etc., etc.
And no link to contact them

My Firefox browser has gotten so obsolete (and can't be upgraded because my OS is ALSO obsolete and has hit a wall) that I can't even use PhotoBucket. The features mainly no longer work for me, including important ones like accessing my library, copying URLS, and so on. I've had to drop it until I can get a new computer. I hate hearing that PB seems to have an ongoing problem of running ahead of older systems and is not concerned about being backwards-compatible. |

If that was true then other people would report the same problem. No, this looks like it's something on your machine, I'm afraid And I don't know how other people could report it No, I meant, no one else has come on here at TMP and reported a problem with PB, except maybe Mako11. |

Well
I was there today
and it appears, it has not occured
so who knows ? I feel your pain piper
whether I/we like it or not
a new Lap Top/PC may be in line for a future purchase
Tech advances and leaves dinos like me in dust bin
If I was born during the time of Cavemen, I would have voted No for fire
