If you were a kid in the 1960s who loved history and toy soldiers, you probably had a WOW figure!

I'm working on my Confederate army and have a good start on Pickett's Virginia boys and some Texans. Even the figures in the photos are works in progress. Figures are Sash and Saber, Perry – metals and plastic, Old Glory – original (Alsop) edition and Second edition.

A very nice job! The variety of manufacturers is a keeper for me as the "look" is simply fantastic. Any size differences actually adds to that look!

Thanks for the motivational pics! (….and I am a Yankee Player!)

Very nice! I especially like your butternut regiment of Perry plastics. You got a great looking color, hinting at grey without actually BEING grey.

I'd agree with Tom, the variety, along with that beautiful paint work, really makes your boys stand out from the pack. Great looking units, basing and pics! Thanks for sharing!

Best,
Bob

Can you tell me which ones are the OG 2nd Ed figures? I am thinking about an order myself of these – the price is unbeatable with the army card.

sma194104 Apr 2014 2:49 p.m. PST

donlowry – all figures are 28mm.

scomac – The "butternut" is my try at Jersey Jean Cloth. Base color is Howard Hughes Wood 1165. I then added Howard Hughes Concrete 1106 until I got the tone I wanted. The bluish uniform are my interpretation of the Tait British made uniform. It can look bright blue or dark grey depending on the light hitting the cloth.

Most of the firing line is OG 2nd. They are intermingled in the other units and fit perfectly with Perry and Sash and Saber.

Very nice.
I'm building both Federal and Confederate forces.
I'm using Perry, Sash and Sabre and Old Glory 2nd Edition myself. They mix quite well I find.
