Yes, I play RFF in 10mm and it works well. I have 10 infantry figures per base in two ranks. Each infantry stand can take two hits before elimination vs one hit in the 15mm game. Two ranks per stand allow for a more stable basing. We often play RFF with 15mm and a single rank of 15mm figures has a tendency to tip over on uneven terrain.

RFF in 10mm looks good to me.

Here is a table shot of one of our games:

I have mine based at 3/4" front by 1/2" depth with 4 figs per base. I use the 6mm/10mm charts available at the website.

Works just fine.

We play Regimental Fire and Fury with 10mm with 4-6 figures per 15mm base and use the 15mm scale. looks fine more figures on the stand looks great!

I am also doing 1866 in 10mm with 4 figs on a .875 square base and it looks great. check out my blog ncwb.blogspot.com for the Cincycon game

I use the standard bases and gameboard sizes for 15mm with my 10mm figures. I like the spacial relationships of th 10mm and felt no need to modify any of the 15mm basing standards. Samples of this shown below.

Great info everyone thanks. I didn't think to use the 6mm info for 10mm. So greatly appreciated.

I'm just curious, if I use the 15mm bases will their be room to attach the unit info to the bases instead of tags off the back? I mean the black w/ white lettering unit info.

Jon your Battle of Port Republic looks great and I can tell you did a lot of research to put that scenario together.

Always like looking at your kit Bill, very inspirational.

Thanks Duane, regarding labels. My bases are magnetic and the labels are on paper steel, folded up in back. I keep the labels in separate bags by battle and command and in this manner, reuse my command stands for ensuing battles. You should have plenty of room to use your method as well. The 15mm standards are as follows:

Infantry 1 X 3/4"
Cavalry 1 X 1"
Artillery 1 x 1 1/2"

Hope this helps,

B

I did have a couple of hundred stands per side in 15mm, but have switched to 10mm so that I can play some of the larger scenarios on (slightly) smaller tables. I have used units of 20mm instead of inches, so a 12" move becomes a 24cm move, a range of 8" becomes 16cm etc and my infantry bases are 2cm x 1.5cm.

I'm just curious. What are the base sizes for 25mm play? Is it an 1-1/2" by 1-1/8"? Is 1-1/2" by 1-1/4" close enough, lol?

I used 1" by 7/8" as I started building my army before RFF was published, the old FnF base size. I find it works well for 2 ranks of 3 pendraken figures. I just use the measurements as they stand in the RFF rules and it gives a good game.

I haven't see many 10mm players in any scale or period, most are between 140mm and 200mm. ;-)
