As an Imperial Guard, er, 'Astra Militarum' player, I have to say I don't care much for the look of the new all-plastic Militarum Tempestus (Stormtrooper) Scions.
Oops, I mean these 'Scions':
Why? Look at the helmeted heads below with facemasks. They look positively simian (maybe the Eldar call them 'monkeigh' for this reason):
The bereted heads look much better, although I must admit I don't care much for all that gold decorative gilded edgework on the carapace breastplate either:
So even though I liked the previous two versions of the IG Stormtrooper, including the Kasrkin, I think I'm going to have to pass on these guys. Yeah, I know, 'different strokes for different folks.' |

I kind of like these guys
I liked the metal Kasrkin better, but these guys are growing on me. |

I am not a fan of these, too. Glad that I have not sold my metal Stormtroopers and Kasrkin. |

I liked the old stormtroopers (with the berets) so these look fine to me. Wasn't a fan of the 'current' ones or the Kasrkin. |

Loved the Kasrkin. Still do. Despite selling off most of my 40K I kept a select few for display. Kasrkins included. As far as these go, I like the beret ones better, to me the helmets just look off for the IG. |

Love the kasrkin and their predecessors. Not a fan of floppy hats on soldiers, though. (Hate berets with a passion. Stick a bucket on your head or leave the warzone in a bag. |

I'm forced to admit, these are pretty sexy. |

I would get the top Scions they are cheaper then anything from GW. Plus hate the facemasks. |

As an Imperial Guard, er, 'Astra Militarum' player, You don't have to worry about that, GW has officially kept "Imperial Guard" as the common name of the AM, just like Space Marines are the common name of the Adeptus Astartes. |

I think GW learned their lesson from the Space Marine kerfluffle last year. I don't know if they will maintain their tradmark on Space Marine and Imperial Guard, but as they are switching to their in universe names for the books, I have to give them some respect if they really let their trademarks of Space Marine and Imperial Guard lapse and go with the 'new' names. |
