The theme for Colonial Barracks IV will be Two Battalions of Marines:
"On November 10, 1775, the Continental Congress passed a resolution stating that "two battalions of Marines be raised" for service as landing forces with the fleet. This established the Continental Marines and marked the birth of the United States Marine Corps."
This will provide a wealth of historical theaters for our Game Masters and gamers to choose from and is a perfect theme since the convention will be the weekend before Veteran's Day (Nov. 11) and just prior to the US Marine Corps Birthday (Nov. 10). Below is a just sampling of the USMC battle history:
Barbary Pirates – "The Shores of Tripoli."
War of 1812 -Battle of New Orleans

Colonial Barracks features "The Sword and The Flame" rules by Larry Brom as well as various other rules designed by him. We're an annual gathering of Colonial gamers dedicated to having a good time and sharing tales of battles-past. Or as someone said last year (rather late one night), "At Colonial Barracks, we put the "F" back in fun
