I think the statues are from the deluxe DVD release of Fellowship. Mine just sit on the shelf looking used and unloved

I really like it – but why the barrels ? |

For me. the passages concerning the final battle and subsequent water burial of Boromir were the most moving and memorable sequences from Tolkien's books. I still remember reading those passages for the first time, many years ago as a high school student. The first LotR movie did a good job portraying these elements of the story, but how can one compete with Tolkien's original prose? Still though, a beautiful diorama piece! Although the pile of broken orcish weapons at Boromir's feet appears to be missing in the Elven canoe, the water effects are quite stunning! |

Nice piece, but The Argonath were not directly above the falls, but rather well upstream, at the northern entrance to the lake. The falls were at the south end of the lake. So Boromir's funeral boat never passed between the statues of Elendil and Isildur. I note that, given the pictures, the boat does not seem to be integral to the piece, as it appears in several different positions and places on the water. So clearly it's been moved around in the various shots. Also, I can't make out what that's supposed to be standing in the end of the boat, and Boromir looks like he's in a cocoon. And is that Bilbo riding the barrel? () |

Boromir's horn is hanging on whatever is in the end of the boat. Maybe a "spirit guide" sort of thing. I expect that some artistic license was used in placing the statues for effect. |

I like that a lot. Beautiful work on the water. The horn hanging on a stone is from the Grendel 10042 Burial Mound set: link |

It's a very nice piece of work, but as others have noted, it doesn't follow the description in the book (or even the movie) all that closely. For me, the hunk of rock in the boat is kind of odd, as is the mummified Boromir, and the absence of the trophies. I admire the handiwork, but don't particularly like the piece for those reasons – it just doesn't look like what I envision. Doug |

Happy you enjoyed the dio boys!. (smile). Maybe not very accurate from the book, but still a beautifull job. Amicalement Armadn |

I believe the statues are Isildur and his brother Anárion, Not Elendil. Nice work. Xin |
