Many (many) years ago, I fell for what must have been an April Fools' joke in one of the Miniature Magazines. They ran an add for "Tartan Paints." It was supposed to enable you to paint a tartan on a miniature in a single stroke; pure genius.
Fell for it hook, line and sinker. Even went to the FLGS and asked if they had it.

The striped paint is a rip-off ! EVERYONE knows that
barber pole stripes are left to right !

Cremmins is selling RIGHT TO LEFT stripy paint !!

And as for their 'Tartan Paint' – HAH ! ONLY the
government tartan is available !
