I am thinking of using these folk as the inspiration for a SOBH type warband but am wondering about figures – my current idea is to use GW LOTR rangers of middle earth in a mix of dark reds, purples and blues or in the darker greens of rangers but with bright scarves etc to give a sort of gypsy look. Anyone have any other thoughts? They'd be fighting otherworld pig faced orcs, kobolds and undead at first at least. Another warband maybe some old citadel men at arms for the retinue of Huberic of Haghill – I have a slightly portly looter with a small sack of either food or gold which seems appropriate. |

So you're going to use the old Judges Guild setting as a framework for a series of fantasy skirmish games? That's a pretty darn cool idea! The City State and surrounding areas are rife with fodder for that sort of thing. |

That's the plan – dunael rangers are another idea – which is why I'm not keen to overuse the GW LOTR rangers. I have some clansmen of lamedon that I've called the Tunnocks of Huntly Tor. They're a bit of a nod to Game of Thrones but are really just a bunh of Mercs nominally in the pay of the Overlord. As you say, the CSIO has all you need. I mean, my orcs will be led by a hasslefree amazon

As someone with almost no prior knowledge about the Wilderlands setting (if that is its name), I'm intrigued, but I can't seem to find much information online regarding these Moonraker Folk. From what I have found, and from the OP, I'm getting kind of a "druidic gypsy moorland brigands" vibe, perhaps like a darker and more culturally isolated/introvert take on Robin Hood and his Merry Men. Would this be just about right? I'm not sure I can help, but a better definition of the kind of culture you want to represent might help others come up with suggestions. Sounds like you want to go for the "cloaked rangers" look though, right? |

Spot on there Roderic – the descriptions are vague. I was wondering if anyone else had tried this
but thank you as I think you have sanity tested my decision – cloaked rangers it is! Maybe with a bit of dirty paisley scarf
