If you have an interest in any type of 18th Century history and wargaming, then we would like to invite you to visit our new Facebook page and become one of our "Friends". It is an open group, so anyone can join.

We have posted some pictures of some of the fabulous games from last weekend's annual SYWA convention held in South Bend, Indiana.

Juergen Olk's Seven Years War in India game won the prestigious Mitchell Cup for the best game at the show and this game was certainly worth the merit as it had more eye candy per square foot than almost any game that I have ever seen.

Among the other games, we had:

Battles of Prestonpans and Hastenbeck using Age of Reason rules

The Battle of Strehla by Dean West – Final Argument of Kings rules

Two Muskets & Tomahawks skirmish games by Herb Gundt

28mm Hanoverians vs French hosted by Jude Becker

The Battle of Lobositz in 30mm by Jim Purky

The Marquess of Granby's Cup – skirmish level horse race with personal agendas and vendettas galore

and a host of other spur of the moment "pick up games" on our open tables.

We also had a dozen or so vendors bringing miniatures, books and accessories for all to purchase, so,there was plenty of opportunities to add to your armies or to start new ones.

And finally, noted SYW historian Christopher Duffy was our guest speaker and guest emeritus. Chris has been attending the convention for at least the past 20 years and he is always happy to talk with members and answer any questions that they may have.

So please feel free to check out our Facebook page and see what we are all about. We welcome everyone with open arms.
