I have just finished painting the other half of a unit that I painted 15 years ago (I did other things between). Here is a shot of the difference:

How has your style changed?

I really don't see that much of a difference in painting. Basing? Yes. By the way, they all look superb, IMO.

My painting style has not changed much, as I go for quantity, at the GEtGW standard (Good Enough to Game With -- OK, held at arm's length).

My basing techniques have changed, however. I swore I would never detail bases: I went with clear bases, to show the underlying terrain, as I hated the clumps of dirt and rocks being dragged across drawbridges of castles, seeing it on cobblestone roadways, in dungeons, etc. Recently, however, I did detail some bases, using colored sand, and gravel -- and I loved it! I admit it, I have caved in, and I like it… Cheers!

Basing?

To be based.

Really interesting to see, Olicana. I like both styles, but I think the boldness and surety you now display is probably superior overall. It also helps to have got your paint colour groupings all sorted out as well, as the highlights you now use make the figures pop more.

Cheers,
Aaron

I've had to change my style due to my cancer. My left arm and hand shake and I can only paint during certain parts of the day. What took me an hour to paint now takes as much as three and they don't, in my opinion, look as good as my earlier stuff. Where I used to do a three color paint I'm now down to a two color paint. My current output reminds me very much of the Brit style you see in WI and I have never been a fan of it.

Both look pretty good to me.

Your style has not changed all that much.
However, as TLA says you have certainly gotten bolder with your colors, not as subtle. They both have appeal to my eye.
Nicely done.

My style hasn't changed too much, although I tend to go for darker colors nowadays. I also try to put in more detail in the facial features of miniatures if they're 25 mm or larger.

What I hate is looking back and seeing that the were painted better than the new stuff.

They both look pretty good to me.
