Hello

I am trying to remove the 9" inch plate from my casting machine (American Jewllery Co, similiar to a Conley I think) to conduct some overdue maintenance etc, but cannot see any way to take it off other than removing all the drive shaft etc.

Any advice on how I may go about it? I cannot recall the manual (which is MIA due to recent house move) saying anything either.

Any advice would be appreciated.

regards
Mathew

I have had two casting machines for many years – one of them a Conley – and can't think of any routine maintenance that requires removing the bottom plate. But if you do, I suggest taking a photo of if and emailing the folks at Conley Casting in Warwick, Rhode Island. They have been extremely helpful to me over the years and are true professionals.

Thanks mate. I have been able to disassemble enough to grease etc underneath as needed, but have discovered it is the motor that is stiff not the drive shaft. Looks like I may be up for a new motor.
