Memorial Day Weekend in Franklin, TN might work. Thanks for the heads-up.

Running across a deadly field? Maybe he should stick to playing in traffic? ;Þ-----

Does this mean we are soon to hear of some outrageously priced range of 28 mm ACW figures soon to be released? Sorry to sound jaded but that seems to be the immediate companion of all of the Osprey rules so far. (or at least the ones I've paid any attention to)

I want figure suppliers to turn sufficient profit but seeing single figures going for over $5.00 USDUS each is just way too much for me to even give the remotest consideration. And, frankly, a lot of the larger scale figures are starting to look, well, ugly. Yes, nice sculpts, but kind of ugly figures. And forget the anatomical discussion – or should I say cartoonish?

And, mind you, I'm a fan of John Hill and his Johnny Reb rules (2nd edition in my case). Of course, I have moved on to other rules but I did play them for close to twenty years, great tactical period feel. Actually got to meet him once when he brought a game to a convention out west (US west), seemed like a nice guy.

There's plenty of figures out there in a variety of scales and materials. Not an issue if someone else decides to pile in, but I don't see it as a necessary adjunct to Osprey publications (it don't happen with 'Dux Bellorum', for example). A new game by John Hill has to be interesting to many.

Thanks for all of the comments! All of the details are NOT ironed out yet, but John will be the "Guest of Honor" this year. HMGS Mid-South has announced some Squad Leader stuff and cigarboxbattle.com is working with John on the new game (ADF) stuff.

I would use whatever figs you want to use Early Morning Writer,,, I do!

If Jonah Hill writes a set of Wargame rules, I'm in!

cigarboxbattle.com will also be recognizing gamers and contributors at the con as well as posting photos and reviews afterwards.

Isn't John a bit old for running? I know I am.

john lacour01 Apr 2014 12:58 p.m. PST

will there be any pre release for sale?

Not sure, John. I sure hope so. It all depends on Osprey I think.

I'm really looking forward to this!
