Hi,

Last week I was lucky enough to pick up an Imperial aces set from my local hobby store.

I wrote about it on my blog which you can see here: link

Hope you like the post!

Comments always appreciated.

Excellent review. I'm looking forward to purchasing mine. I was at my FLGS this weekend, but alas, once again FFG's distribution model meant they only got two boxes out of six ordered, and apparently I'm third on the claim list. frown Might wind up with it next weekend, might have to go elsewhere.

My advice to you on storage is to ditch the boxes. Yeah, they look neat, but they take up a lot of space. A simple plastic snap-shut case with internal compartments will hold a bunch of ships and all your components quite well. These are sold at fishing, hunting and/or hardware supply outlets in the US— I'm certain you can find similar sources in the UK. Plano is a popular US manufacturer. I've also had luck with cases intended for bead jewelry hobbyists— check craft stores for these.

Thanks for the early look!

i picked one up at Hotlead in southern Ontario Last weekend. I mulched my friend with Karnor Jax and a bot of TIE interceptor mobbing. took down Wedge Antilles in record time thanks to carnor jax's ability and some good rolling.

that'll teach those rebel scum to stop heaping upgrades and such on characters. the opening volley kill 1/3rd of his 110 point force.

these are the only 2 interceptors I've ever played with, and i like.

and like parzival said, i keep all my X-wing stuff in plano cases.

One thing to consider is cutting out the part of the pack that holds the fig, and dropping it in to one of the partitions in the plastic cases mentioned.

Keeps 'em from flopping about. Also, there are clear plastic cases which will show off the figs, though they tend to be a bit expensive AND brittle.

I will say I'm a bit jealous; we've yet to see any Aces at our store.

Thanks for the understanding, Parzival. I know it frustrated your store keep as much as it did you.

Interestingly, I'm one of the few that doesn't seeth at FFG. Well, not much. ;->=

Thanks for the comments guys.

Yes, I have considered putting the ships in a compartment box, as I have all my counters in one at the moment. Something I'll look into once I get a chance to nip to the shops again (not as simple as it sounds in rural cumbria!)

I am getting pretty frustrated with FFG with the lack of availability on ships, but I understand that producing the amount they do, getting them painted to such a good standard, and then shipping them round the world is no easy task! Still though, it would be nice if they could up their production runs a bit, as people clearly want the stuff.
