Like the title says, a whole gang of 15mm cartel thuggery, scum and villainy for Hammer's Slammers or whatever system grabs yer fancy: link
Frankly, I'm so jealous of the way these turned out, that I now have to make such a group of fast moving scum and villainy for my own nefarious purposes

Very impressive! I especially like that You remembered even about communication van. You need some propaganda van with boomboxes as well. :) |

Really nice work on all of those. I like the comms van, too. I use news crews and war correspondents in a lot of my games, and I could see that van painted bright red with a Channel 23 logo on the side:

Really amazing stuff! Do you have any tips for choosing a hot wheels car that will end up looking in -scale? |
BlackWidowPilot | 30 Mar 2014 8:27 p.m. PST |
Do you have any tips for choosing a hot wheels car that will end up looking in -scale? I cheat by taking a 15mm figure I'm going to use with the vehicles, and compare it to the vehicle on the spot. Quite a few of these die cast vehicles are closer to 15mm than might be immediately apparent, and if the figures have a bulkier style such as the old Laserburn series, then fitting seated poses in the existing vehicle's interior can be excruciatingly easy.
Always the K.I.S.S. Principle, really. Leland R. Erickson Metal Express metal-express.net |

I am flabbergasted! Hmmmm
Flabbergasted
that would be a great name for a recon AFV, actually

Amazing as always, Leland. I have been going out a bit every day, to Dollar Trees and Big Lots, Michael's and Harbor Freight, just looking at everything, trying to see what you see. I sure have found a lot of toy lines and vehicle lines I've never heard of. Do the Matchbox Adventure or Mission Force vehicles match up well with 15mm sci fi? The planes look smallish (1/144 scale?) and the trucks look biggish (1/92 or 1/87-ish, maybe)? I need to take a figure with me, because I just stand there in the toy aisle, looking at every robot, alien, Hot Wheel and Maisto toy I can find, desperately trying to gauge the scale. What I'm saying is you've inspired me. A-bashing we will go. Still looking for turrets bits for my wasabi-dish grav tanks, but I'll bet I have a huge pile of bits in about six months or so. I've decided to have my (fictional) "Insurgents" faction attempt to raid a military museum and make off with tanks and planes to bolster their forces, so some HMScumVees would be perfect. Force on Force has some great scenario generators. 8) Cheers. |

Very cool, my favourite is the 6 wheeler, great work on these. |

I'd love to see the before picture of the pile of stuff for one of these conversions, not just the Hot Wheels and figs, but the lemon bag mesh, plastic clips, hard drive bits, etc. Wow, I just noticed that one can find some nice blogs googling Matchbox and 15mm. 8) |

grommet, thank you, kind sir! As for finding suitable gun turrets, you might want to take a look at the soon to be released Goanna tank from Khurasan Miniatures. If I understand correctly, it's going to come with two (2) turrets and a variety of gun barrels, so this offers an opportunity to us kit bashers, a ready made turret and extra guns to instantly turn empty wasabi dishes and such into wicked cool grav tanks: TMP link
Otherwise, there is the approach I used of the large, rectangular or round plastic rhinestones as gun turrets (see my past blog posts), or tracking down some cheap die cast toy tanks and converting them to sci fi AFVs or cannibalizing their turrets for grav tank projects and their chassis for something else.

Gunner, I am on the hunt for a pair of those six wheelers now, as I have an idea for some lower end tech light armored weapon carrier. The wraparound windshield just begs to be converted into an armored shield complete with vision blocks

Very cool and inspiring. Why, thank you, oh Monocular One! I am definitely planning on building one for my own personal collection this year, as it was a very enjoyable project indeed, and I expect it'll be a real challenge to actually win a battle with when facing regular combat forces.
