We'll be doing some open demos at the store next weekend, and I wondered if anyone had suggestions. I've talked with ARES, and Roberto Di Meglio was kind enough to say we should probably: "use basic rules. If you want a step more, add rules about raking from the Standard Rules." No pre-preplanning, terrain, and use boarding only "if people ask", "trying to board an enemy ship." While he made the most sensible suggestion of playing to a fixed time rather than dragging out to the last hull point, I'd rather take it further and somehow work it that people could drop in an out. Any ideas for that, or, of course, totally different directions? Thanks in advance! Doug |

Give each person a 32 gun frigate. You could even do a couple of scenarios |

Thanks! I was figuring on trying to keep to smaller ships, so that's bang on. What I was hoping was that some one more familiar with the rules might have ideas for designing an open scenario, keeping simple but still allow people wanting to try out the game options to drop in and out. Doug |
