Here are the main infantry forces of the Mighty Hobgoblin Army in 15mm scale:
Top-- unit command, archers Bottom-- pole arms, attack cohorts (hobgoblin on the right has the cohort shield that these will all have) These big goblinoids are as organised as they are pitiless, using discipline and tactics as well as brute force to subdue the enemy. In the centre are the attack cohorts, units of hobgoblins marching in step, equipped with long straight swords and large rectangular shields. These advance implacably, shields locked, stabbing between small openings in the shield wall, and can then swing their swords to great effect if a disorganised melee ensues. On the wings are archer units using massed bow fire to defeat outflanking attempts. Should mobile enemy forces survive the storm of arrows, hobgoblins with polearms, deployed as a rear rank of the archers, step forward to defend the archers. Some hobgoblin emperors also demand that archers deploy as a rear rank of each attack cohort, to use plunging shooting to wear down the enemy, but this practice has varied from reign to reign. There are more elements to the Mighty Hobgoblin Army as well -- carnivorous ape berserkers deployed in front of the attack cohorts to break up the enemy line, and hobgoblin knights mounted on entelodonts which launch themselves in reckless charges against enemy flanks -- just one such rampaging unit can roll up the entire flank of an enemy army. Sculpted by Mike Broadbent. The most fearsome foes of the Mighty Hobgoblin Army -- the Lizardman barbarian tribes -- are further along and should be available within about a month and a half. Kobolds will follow, although the dolly for those tiny fellows is proving a bit of a bugg*r! |

Mighty glad you think so! I've always loved the way the Meshwesh in Egyptian armies of the Libyan dynasty were called the "Invincible Meshwesh" and I wanted to come up with some similar name for the Hobgoblin army. |

Well, sounds to me like you're overdue in creating a worthy opposing army for your Grand Army of the Vertically Challenged!
