You used a mix of paint from different brands. Are they all chemically similar or not? I know for example, acrylics will react with enamels. |

Tk, As far as I know you can mix any brand as long as the base is the same. So you can use all inks, washes, acrylics & water colours ( water based )together with varying effects and you can mix all enamels with oils ( spirit based ). Having said that I have seen very good works of art done with mixing acrylics with oils whilst still wet but these were done on canvas/paper/wood etc. Hope this helps Z |

I use both enamels and acrylics on the same model and had no issue, as long as each is dry before using the other. |

I've always used enamels 1st with acrylics over on top 2nd. Isn't that the old adage? Newton peat brown ink or Blue has been the only ink I've used for nearly 20 years now. Very happy with the results. Very nice jobs |

Thanks all, Glad you like them I'll be adding more pics & keep you posted.I did 2 more conversions today.15mm conversions are fiddly to say the least & legs & arms break off easily when you try to bend them but if one if successful they're rewarding & add variety to an otherwise limited number of poses. I ended up with 2 broken off boots & 2 broken off legs today.:(
I should say that drilling a 15mm leg to pin it ,is not a task for the weak of heart. :) Z |
