I just received "Scouts Out" by Robert Edwards on German Armored Reconnaissance Units in WWII. Fantastic book of you're interested in the subject. Full of photos (both B&W and Color). Chapters on Development, Organization, Vehicles, Uniforms, and the Major formations. 500+ pages.

I especially like the diagrams of what vehicles were in what platoons, links to the KtsN (German TO&E), and finally a fairly good listing of Company Numbers so I can accurately recreate vehicle numbers (so OCD of me).

Is there much information on Kfz.13 and Kfz.14 patrols?

Some, not a lot. Numerous photos though. Still going thru it though, so there may be more. I'm focusing more on 44-45, so I haven't really paid all that much attention to the early war stuff.

Try the KStN's at the authors website:

Yeah, it's a great book. Makes me want to get the two volumes on panzer uniforms.

Ok, thanks!

Sounds useful – I will look it out. My own interest is 44-5 too
