Hi guys,

Firstly, another call out for help with spare Tau parts, I have had zero luck so far, I need them for my Tau walker conversions, looking for fire warrior weapons, armour, sensors and a couple of heads, I don't need need much, would be happy with enough to convert even 2 walkers, happy to pay or trade.

Here are some shots of what I have finished in this force so far, not all of these models are complete, I would like the finished force to have
some HQ elements
2 large walkers (was going to have 4, but scaled back to 2)
6-9 Crisis Suits (want to have 6 the same as the 3 pictured, and 3 larger ones)
1 drop ship (converted from a poor 2nd hand Hammerhead I bought off Ebay, hasn't arrived yet)
6 armoured vehicles (have made the mock up of one, will make a mould and cast the rest)
4-6 x 12 man infantry sections (may use a different line of figures of further fire warriors, not enough variety in poses in the Ygs, looking at CMGs Protolene Khanate figs)
2 x 5 man stealth suit sections
a heap of drones (will use GZG flying gun drones)

Really impressive!

I'm totally digging all the work you've put into this. I can't wait to see them all dolled up and ready to fight.

GNARGNAR28 Mar 2014 5:22 a.m. PST

You are obscenely talented and grossly inspirational. If I had tau bits they would be yours. I actually thougjt about buying some kits just to send you to support the proj (I don't even like tau, but I love your work!) But the wife put an end to that expenditure….

Gunner Dunbar28 Mar 2014 5:35 a.m. PST

Thanks GNARGNAR, glad you didn't do that, just want spars, don't want anybody out of pocket, but glad you are inspired, will probably buy parts off the internet, just hate having to pay all those postage costs, parts end up a fortune.

I have a ton of spare Tau parts – send me a PM with a list and I will hit the bits box this weekend

Don't worry about the postage – my generous employer will pay

You should try the 28mm tau sniper guns. One of the poses has it in a position that you could remove the gun almost intact, except for the stock.

Looks just like the railguns on the broadside suit but would be about right for 15mm.

IN fact I might have one lying around. I'll check tonight.

Hi Frederick and leidang, I can't send PMs, please email me at dan.dunbar@hotmail.com we can work out a trade.

out of curiosity, why have you given the crisis suits oversized bugs bunny cartoon feet? is it for a particular theme that I couldn't spot / didn't read properly?

Gunner Dunbar01 Apr 2014 10:36 p.m. PST

"why have you given the crisis suits oversized bugs bunny cartoon feet?"

LOL yeah a little like bunny feet, no theme, just poor sculpting skills, the original feet had 3 long talons, and didn't look Tau at all, I have tried to get them more Tau looking, but poorly I admit.

Gunner ,
One of the best converted 15mm armies around.
All you have to do is to file them square & at an angle ( did you use procreate for them, since it's grey ? )
If I were to do them , I would get a piece of PVC or hard wood , file each toe ( negative shape) with a square needle file & make a press mould OR you can do it vice versa by shaping a set out of PVC & do a press mould with putty on it.
Hope this helps.

Gunner , lol, sorry didnt mean it to sound like criticism just it was the first thing that came to mind :D. Better than id manage too ;-)

Gunner Dunbar02 Apr 2014 10:22 p.m. PST

No offence taken, I like criticism, sometimes you need someone to point things out before you notice, wish someone had said something before I had mounted them on bases, not sure I want to mess with them now, may use Z advice for the next lot, thanks Z.

zrunelord03 Apr 2014 4:21 a.m. PST

Welcome Gunner, always glad to help out.
But if I were you, I would still try to file one down as suggested or carve it down into shape.
I'm still old school & use Milliput mostly ( haven't used Procreate yet) and I usually carve it down to shape if required with a flat chisel like scalpel blade.

Gunner Dunbar03 Apr 2014 2:51 p.m. PST

Yeah, will give it a go.

malleman03 Apr 2014 6:49 p.m. PST

I think they look fine (modified for their environment they are fighting in). When you paint them up they will look different.

Beneath A Lead Mountain04 Apr 2014 5:16 a.m. PST

Procreate is really easy to carve using a scalpel or file down and will take a hard edge very well. Not that I think you personally really need too. Great stuff, nice to find someone still inspired by GW even if not using there miniatures or intended scale :) (My vast 28mm squat army sits untouched)
