I'd like to paint some of my Soviet infantry in the brown uniform. Has anyone done so and what brown did you use? Thanks!

History,

Are you doing it in 3mm scale? I just ended up going with Russian Uniform on mine…although it is not that brown. But I lightened it up a bit because of the scale.

There is Khaki Gray….but it may be a bit too light.

I saw this too.

Yes, in 3mm. I want to give each WarPac army a slightly different uniform to differentiate them at a glance. I've used Russian uniform green for my Poles, so the brown looks really good for my Soviets

What about a brown drab or US field drab? It might be a tad brighter….but for the scale it may work out.

I'll give it a try and see how it turns out

Now you have me thinking I should repaint my infantry…

I find a differing paint job on each nationality makes identification on the table SO much easier

You know….I am looking at my bottle of English uniform….it may be blasphemous… but it looks like it might work for the scale too

My original M69 jacket is very brown, English Uniform is a perfect match. My pilotka is even browner.

Barin pointed out in another thread that uniforms were issued in brown khaki or greener khaki, it just depended on some random machinations of the command economy.

History…drop me an email address and I will send you a quick test on a figure

I've looked at my English Uniform and it didn't seem as dark as the uniforms in the photo. I realize there were thousands of variations over the decades, but painting 1/600 requires something of a caricatured style anyway. In any case, English Uniform is already used for my Danes (prior to the 1984 issuance of camo uniforms).
