I'm about to set about some Esseex Dutch Lancers of the guard and i was wondering if there was a typical mount type they would have used. I'm tilting towards possibly chestnuts or bays but if anyone can give me a definitive it would be extremely helpful. Cheers Paul

Ah plenty of typos in that…point to self look up when typing. It should read ESSEX Dutch Lancers.

According to the Napoleon, His Armies and Enemies website you would be correct in opting for chestnuts and bays: link
