"South Africa's cash-strapped armed forces are in a "critical state of decline" that will take at least a decade to fix even with urgent action, according to a military strategy review seen by Reuters. It said "neglect" of defense capability could impact everything from border security to trade and constrain Pretoria's continental peace-keeping and diplomatic ambitions. A regular contributor to United Nations peace missions in Africa, South Africa currently has troops in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Sudan, and its ships and frigates support anti-piracy efforts off Mozambique

That's because all the money went to President Zuma's residence 20-million dollars, including a cattle kraal. It is sad to see. They might have to ask China for help, everyone else has. |

Yet El Presidentie had over 20 million $ of "home improvement" to his rural getaway with a swimming pool labeled a "fire pool" (taxpayers paid for this) This is the tip of the iceberg as far as the Liberation-struggle-rs largess. The SouthAfricanNationalDefenceForce SANDF is actually a joke of world proportions and is at the same readiness as the Ukrainens as a viable 'trained' force and is actually more dangerous to its home country than any protagonists. A mechanized brigade of the old SADF would (broken up into task forces with limited air support could reliberate the country in a week (as if its worthwhile with external powers that be being disapproving about such things ;) More? Boy is there more. I think this is best a game of map campaigning with a political/strategic and tactics involved using 6/10 mm to get the feel of it with smaller skirmish games to achieve certain objectives eg, a bunch of ex Parabats (airborne from the older dispensation) inserting into the Presidenties' rural getaway to capture him and his wives for bargaining chips in the campaign. Hope this helps kick off. Some gaming fun. Cheers. (All places and names have not been changed to help for a less corrupt society 8-D) |

Hmmm, sounds familiar. Does his wife (wives) and children go on taxpayer funded, extravagant, all-expenses paid vacations around the globe without him as well? |
