I wanted to, but the fact they went with resin is a deal breaker. I'd like to grab a few of the bigger models, especially the walkers. My other issue is the direct sales route they've taken. Does anyone know if their product is being distributed to local stores? Gotta support FLGS, dontcha know? Any thoughts? -Edgar |

I liked the 1e rules and minis, but I absolutely LOVED the 2e rules and minis. I played both quite a bit. I looked at the KS, but it left me utterly cold. I'd love to see it catch on in my game community, so I could bring out my old forces. And while you're at it, I'd love a stable of homunculi to paint my minis, too. |

Yeah, I was a fan of the earlier versions but resin is a no-go for me as well. |

Not that this'll keep you lot warm at night but
(-:) I've been playing a lot lately, twice over the last three weeks in fact, tho mainly because we are going to be running a demo game at a local gaming convention in two weeks time. It's pretty much requisite too to put in an effort: the rules are at the very least complex, I would even say complicated. Obviously fanboyz will disagree and to be fair, none of the earlier editions have been paragons of the "simple but not simplistic" approach either. As the minis, according to the said fans, Prodos' resin (I think it's actually "plastic resin" since it's bendy more than brittle) is "sublime". I'm less sure about that and I actually think there may be two varieties (gray and blue, the latter seems to be subject to excessive amounts of flash), but I'm mostly happy with the miniatures I got (mostly Cybertronics) as per material and sculpting. They are rather large compared to my mostly 28mm-ish collection tho so things could be better in that regard. I have no idea at all as to how WzR has caught on generally or if it's available at shops or whathavewe. |

I don't see much of it online or hear of it in shops. In fact, it seemed to drop off the radar screen post-KS. Anyone at Prodos running a demo program? Or actively seeking increased production/overseas distribution? Or consistent online exposure? I'm not a fan of resin, but I'd pick up some Cybertronic for old times' sake if it were at The Warstore. Hell, I'd run demos for the guys here, post on my blog, at various forums if Prodos seemed more proactive and accessible. |

I've seen no retail distribution in the UK. Not that we've much retail left
A lot of the poses with legs as far apart as (in)humanly possible turned me off. |

I spoke to mark Ralston from prodos at the Abingdon show early March They will be distributing to resellers but had some production issues in the factory where they print the cards They then wanted to complete getting the ks out They are looking at doing conventions and running demos and getting out to shops and traders I got the impression this will start to happen later in the year I'm also talking to them about putting a demo on at warfare in November Al |

Maybe Prodos should contract with Renedra or Wargames Factory to get their models out in plastic

Yeah, I'd maybe be interested if they were good hard plastic
but tooling up to make them ain't cheap
which I figure is why so many of these boutique companies and kickstarter fly-bys are going with resin. |

Yeah, they're not available for retail yet or I'd have them on the shelves. At least I finally did hear back from Prodos. I've had a plan for how to do Mutant Chronicles core stuff on just one or two sprues for years. For the corperations You do five, basic armored bodies and arms, five faction specific heads, five faction specific rifles, and five faction specific shoulder pad sets. If you arrange the sprue right you can even clip them to do specific corporation boxes instead of a general box. If you get to where you can do a sprue per corporation, you put light and heavy armor on the same sprue and add heavy weapon and command options. For the Dark Legion you do two multipart zombies, two necromutants, two cultists, and a Centurion / Nepharite. The intent is that you can mix zombie parts onto the troopers or cultists to build a wider range of legionaries. I'm not totally sold on the one big body for the Centurion / Nepharite but it's probably about all you could fit. I'd probably try to maximize the variety on the necromutants and cultists by doing interchangable individual leg and hip pieces. |
