I just got some Battlefront German 105mm Howitzers form Noble Knight Games, AAA+ seller by the way! I'm painting them up for Early War but I do heve one Question, does anyone know what color the howitzer powder bags were and what Vallejo paint is closest to matching it? Thanks and salut y'all! I'd assume unbleached cloth for cost reasons, so Stone Grey. |

I'm not exactly sure, but would think that German 105mm ammo was semi fixed similar to U.S. howitzer ammunition. So they would be brass in my world for early war and steel or lacquered black for late war. Powder bags for separate loading ammunition is/was a white linen fabric. Below is a photo I found of German Arty. link Color coding of WWII German artillery shells: – High Explosive: Olive Green, Olive Drab, or Field Grey (except for 3.7cm anti-tank gun which was silver-grey) – Armour Piercing: Black – Anti-Aircraft: Yellow – Anti-Aircraft Incendiary Shrapnel Shell: Red and Blue – Star Shell/illumination: Pale Green – Propaganda Shell/leaflet: White and Red link |
