Remembering Marx WOW Figures

If you were a kid in the 1960s who loved history and toy soldiers, you probably had a WOW figure!

After a time that feels like years, mainly because it is years, I have finally completed my 10mm ACW armies. The painting method was a bit of an experiment (at least for me), so I've published a few photos to see what people think. The figures were painted for mass effect. That's my excuse anyway. The first batch of photos are up on my blog:

Very nice work indeed! And you certainly showed a lot of patience with those Confederates thumbs up

Nice to see them on wider than typical bases.

Terrific looking, but in Gone With The Wind, wasn't the 'mass effect' a street full of prone wounded soldiers? Yours look better.

What rules will you be using with them?

@McLaddie

Yes, you're right about Gone With The Wind!

Rules remain an open question. I started the armies when involved in a group that was helping to develop a 19thC version of Blitzkrieg Commander but that didn't come to fruition. I now have three possibilities lined up:

(1) ACWarmaster
(2) Rifle and Kepi link
(3) My own hex-based 19thC rules which I've just started developing (1 base = 1 battalion).

I deliberately avoided doing any Zouaves etc so that the figures could be used for games at any level of representation.
