For my OniCorp faction: A light enforcer with light graser turret:
It's a polecat, from the excellente Khurasan miniatures 28mm choice! And a backup team of two Zombi TACarm Delta, with zombigun replaced by a rocket launcher from Red Blok parts:

Very nice conversions. There's not much mention of AT-43 since it's demise (unlike some other OOP games), but it was a fun game. |

A grazer on a wheeled vehicle is an interesting dichotomy
Either it isn't throwing enough "gravy" to throw the wheeled vehicle back with recoil, or the weapon is so advanced that the field is "attuned" to NEGATE recoil, or in your universe Gravity manipulation for whatever reason doesn't have a perceived recoil at the point of origin. All of which point to better vehicle choices than a small light wheeled chassis as a prime mover. In my examples a heavier track, a gravity-powered sled, or a hover tank would be better "first" choices for such a weapon. I'd love to hear the "fluff" reason that you are mounting a gravity cannon to an MRAP "jeep". Maybe they are refitted from obsolete gear the frontliners stripped off their hovertanks? Maybe gravity is readily detectable and this is seen as a "stealthier" option than a gravity sled? Maybe this is a smaller "crowd-control" anti-personnel/riot control weapon? Is it hastily salvaged tech from a superior enemy shoehorned onto an obsolete chassis? Rebels fitting milspec gear onto police vehicles? Captured alien gear thrown onto whatever remains of the defending forces after the "first wave" was repelled? Or am I reading too much into putting a graser onto a souped up jeep? |

OniCorp is known to salvage therian tech, for exemple, and my Oni faction is R&D, so, beyon the nice look of the light enforcer, I think they try to integrate to higher tech, and I note that with drawbacks like reduced move after two or three shots. But I can also replace the graser by a more conventional weapon, your point is interesting,BigNickR! |

Okay, I was never into the Oni faction stuff, but how much recoil would a gamma ray laser have? Rob |
BigNickR | 23 Mar 2014 4:56 p.m. PST |
Lasers would have next to none
Gravetic weapons though
And I missed tha part where this was FOR the AT-43 game rather than merely featuring some of its miniatures. When your setting includes chainsmoking cigar apes and brains-in-a-jar piloting spidermechs, I will not question gravity cannons on jeeps. Rock on, good sir! |

So is the GRASER a gravity-warping weapon or a GAMMA RAY LASER? There being somewhat of a difference between them. |

I always thought that grasers were gamma ray lasers. |

From Honorverse, where I FIRST heard the term: link Schlock Merc calls it "gravy" as the "trooper slang" for gravity (or Gravetic) weapony link Basically the same technology used to make artificial gravity for spacecraft and for propulsion/levitation being used to send out a "knuckle" of gravity that crushes whatever it hits under a few hundred to a few tens-thousands of "gee's". The description is a big field generator, giant lenses, and massive energy needs, with short range and little able to stop the darn thing. All of which fit pretty good for what I was looking at. I've always understood that: Lasers = light Masers = magnetism Grasers = gravity With the Acronym of: (Blank) Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation Gama Ray lasers are therefore simply another "flavor" of Laser. But that's my universe, not yours, and as I said I was just trying to understand, not tell you how to play with YOUR toys ;) |

BigNickR: In the universe I grew up in, Laser =Light, Maser=microwave, Graser= Gamma Ray. I don't think my universal translator worked when contacting your universe. |

I use the term graser because for the rank two of OniCorp, the main weapon is a medium graser. So, I consider that the scientists of Oni are sufficiently strong for adapting a light graser on the rank one. |
