Did anyone make Stargate transportation rings? I am gaming in 1/72nd scale so 15mm to 28mm range might work. Any suggestions for alternatives? Thanks. Mike Bunkermeister Creek Bunker Talk blog |

I wish you luck finding a set of transportation rings rather than a Stargate! I would try making one from cardboard rings sandwiched together and held apart by transparent plastic rods. I would paste a printed design on the ring sections. Hope you find what you are looking for! |

For transportation rings I was thinking cheap blue plastic bracelets. I noted some with pre drilled holes along the edges(I guess you can string them together?). $2.00 USD and eight to the pack. Translucent blue color. |

Studio Berstrom . While I do not own that piece . DO NOT think the castings are poor due to some of the paint jobs . I have many of the starships and every one was a clean nice cast . |

I use these SG Key Rings available on eBay. They come in both Milky Way and Pegasus Galaxies. Some are only one sides so I had to use 2. However, they a more in scale with 6mm – auction I've made the based for these
next to my 6mm GW SM SCTs –
And next to some of my GW IG –
These may be too small for 15mm, but some 6mm fans may find them useful
The Bergstrom 4" may be more suited to 15mm. I still may get one of pic frame versions with warp effect. |

Do you remember how many people can stand inside a transportation ring? I think I saw 3 people being transported at the same time IIRC. I may go to the hobby store later this week if I can determine the diameter in 1/72. But right now all I can visualize is the one guy getting cut in half at the end of the Stargate movie before the SG team sent the nuclear device back up to the ship. |

In Stargate: Continuum, the Jaffa were 'ringing' down on groups of 5 or 6, if I remember correctly? |

You do. 5/6 is possible, if cramped. |

I normally base my 1/72 troops on U.S. pennies. I put 5 as close as possible and it looks like I would need an inside diameter of around 2 inches (50mm). If I put 6 guys together, with 1 guy surrounded by 5 others, I come up with around 2 1/4 inches (or around 55mm) inside diameter. Now to search for a suitable ring. I haven't watched Stargate in a while; how many rings make up the transport device? |

Someone did one for printing on clear acetate. That way you can lay it on any terrain. IIRC it was in the yahoo stargate e-group. |

Normally 5 rings are floating in mid air

. . . And people have trouble with hover-tanks while they accept this? :) Actually this was the most sensible approach to matter transmission that has been seen for a long time :) |
