[/URL] First British unit for the Battle of Talavera. This is the closest I could get with my cell phone, buy they def look better in person. I am going to be using General de brigade rules. I like big historical units so my French are 3 ranks and British in 2. Using 10:1 scale. By the way I am missing one company I ran out of bases! Not sure still if I should go with 5 double company larger bases or keep the 10 company basing scheme. Thanks for looking Michael |

Thank you Yorkie! Your blog got me motivated again to start painting. I don't mind the infantry, but the cavalry for me is a pain in the butt. I painted about 4 squadrons of Prussian cavalry 1806, but I gave up haha. Your blog is really tempting me to do Davouts 1809 3rd Corps since almost each regiment in his corps there is tons of information on uniform details. Michael |

I agree, the cavalry is a pain in the butt! especially the Hussars
Needs to be done though, and worth it getting them done in the end! Steve |

Very nice looking :o) The trick with Hussars is to thin the base colour so it 'washes' into the lacework, then dry brush the lace colour on top of that. If you use 'normal' consitency paint it tends to clog the lace work up making it harder to dry brush. L |
