A friend of mine , Hap Jordan, is having serious health issues and is trying to find two old friends of his. Dana Homo and Herb Gundt. Both were big in 7 years war. Thanks for your time

Contact Der Alte Fritz on his blog ( altefritz.blogspot.com ) who should be able to get your friend in touch with Herb Gundt. He might also know how to contact Dana Homo.

Sorry to hear that about Hap. I remember him from the SYW con in the old days-he was always a great guy to talk to. He tried for years to convince me to build Prussian and Austrian armies in 20mm.

If you can get me an email I'll post it on the SYW Association page; or Jim Purkey (Der Alte Fritz) could pass on the message at the convention as it starts on Friday-I haven't decided yet whether I'm going.

I've posted a message on the SYW Association Yahoo Group asking for your message to be passed on to Herb and Dana.

Dennis thanks,
Hap is currently in assisted living and His son is trying to help him get his figs disposed of. He has thousands of unpainted as well as whole armies in 20mm.

ColCampbell thanks for the page I've passed it on to Tom so hopefully things will move from there.

Again thanks guys for taking the time

Rick:

I just heard from the SYW Association. The message has been forwarded to Herb Gundt.

I'm happy to have helped; I always liked Hap, and plenty of others here have helped me when I've needed it.

I got through to Dana via an old email address, and he and Herb will be in touch-probably tomorrow.

Dana and Herb can't find their telephone numbers for Hap (Dana says the landline is disconnected and they can't find a good cell phone number). If you could email me with a telephone number for Hap (I'm at dsenfield@aol.com) or just email me I can put you in touch with Dana.

Hello All (Dennis, Rick and Jim)

Thanks so much for your assistance. I talked to Dana last night for a long time. He will be getting the word out at the SYW con this weekend.

Just a note on the armies;

20mm Napoleonic Armies 10,000 painted and mounted figures

20mm SYW 5,000- 6,000 painted and mounted

25mm SYW 5,000- 6,000 painted and mounted

Have someone bring some to the convention with a list if that would help Hap.

This is 50 years of wargaming – Hap has not seen it in 5 years and has finally said it is OK to liquidate

There is alot of misc. along with these painted armies. To much to list he has alot of unpainted figures horses, canon for these armies as well as other things. I have details on the painted 20mm Napoleonic armies and counts on the SYW armies. Ex. over 200 unpainted Cossacks – theres just bags and bags of unpainted figures. I estimate there was a couple thousand pounds of lead and I've moved some of it already at "Cold Wars"

I've spent nearly 150 hrs over the last year going through the hoard. I've found unpainted 1970's 30 mm from Surren, staden, and scruby. Also, there are alot of partly painted troops

Some of the lead and most of the painted troops are out of the home and in Lancaster Pa. except for the 25mm SYW armies – (French and Hanovarian)

There are also 20mm and 40 mm civil war armies along with alot of unpainted troops. approx. 2,200 and 1,ooo repectivley

We are looking to sell the "painted armies" as single units and not break them up. These are mostly painted professionally.
